Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women is an entity of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Part of its purpose is to support the mission of the church worldwide. Presbyterian Women is part of the Women’s Ministries Program Area of the National Ministries Division. However, Presbyterian Women determines its own leadership, program, and budget.
All women of Eastminster are Presbyterian Women! Active members meet monthly in circles for fellowship and Bible study. Our Bible study "year" runs September through May.
The 2008-2009 Horizons Bible Study is "Jubilee! Luke's Gospel for the Poor" by Dale Lindsay Morgan

Purpose
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
- to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
- to support the mission of the church worldwide,
- to work for justice and peace, and
- to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witness to the promise of God's kingdom.
- What is God doing in the world today?
- Where does God want me to use my life and my gifts in service to the world?
- What is God saying to me, through the Scriptures, other persons, experiences I've had, the needs of others and invitations like this?
- What weaknesses or failures in my life will God transform into tools of ministry for me to use?
- How can I grow spiritually; become "mature" in my faith, link my life to God;s purpose, through my family life, my occupation, my membership in the Church and in Presbyterian Woman?
- How can I be a good steward of God's gift of life itself?
- What are the costs and what are the benefits to me if I accept this invitation?
An Invitation to you...
As a Christian, committed to the call of Christ to be his disciple... As a Presbyterian, who finds meaning in the fellowship and ministry of the Church... As a person, whose life is filled with responsibilities and obligations to others... As a woman, who tries to juggle house duties, job demands and community service, yet often feels overburdened, lonely and her gifts unappreciated and undeveloped... As one who acknowledges the gifts of grace God has given her, and wants to respond in gratitude for these gifts, and use them for God's purpose... "You did not choose me, but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that would last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name." John 15:16 NRSV
An Invitation to you...
Join, committed to the call of Christ to be his disciple... Share other Presbyterian Women in continuing their heritage of participation in global mission, advocacy for human rights and the leadership development of women, locally and globally... Invest your own unique talents and time to help make important decisions, provide leadership for meaningful action and witness to God's love and grace... Discover and develop new skills as you accept the responsibilities of your office and the learning opportunities it brings... Celebrate with others the good news lived out in community; the unity with diversity, enriching all; your partnership with God and other women by which you make a difference in your own unique way, and contribute to a world of justice and peace yet to be... "For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us." Romans 12:4-8 NRSV
An Invitation...
As you prayerfully consider your response to this invitation to serve, ask yourself:
"The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your needs in parched places, and make your bones strong, and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail." Isaiah 58:11 NRSV
