Children's Sunday School
NURSERY: Room 225
Children are always welcome in worship at Eastminster Church, but parents of infants and very young children often find that they are nervous or distracted as children move or make sounds. For the peace of mind and encouragement to concentrate in worship, Eastminster provides nursery care for parents of children from birth to age 3. The loving care offered by nursery attendants gives even the youngest children an introduction to the nurturing environment of Sunday School and the church.
MUSTARD SEEDS: (age 3-5) Room 224
Faith and theology can be complicated matters, but waiting for adulthood is too late to gain an introduction to God's goodness, mercy and love. The young participants of our Mustard Seed class begin learn in age appropriate ways through the Presbyterian curriculum entitled "We Believe - God's Word for God's People" coupled with the loving care and nurturing environment of the teachers and attendants. The objective is entry into the school-age years as eager to learn about God's blessings in life as to learn math, science and reading. Many Mustard Seed kids complete the program ready to attend and participate in worship with their parents.
ELEMENTARY: (grades 1-5) Room 266
During these most eager and active learning years, our teachers work to engage multiple learning routes by providing a variety of learning centers keyed to the abilities and interests of young pupils. The curriculum is developed and monitored by professional educators and has included rotating workshops involving puppetry, cooking, computers, and other "hands on" activities to teach the Bible, its stories, and its significance for life today. Seasonal emphases are also folded in to provide age appropriate framework and understanding of the sometimes subtle signals sent by both church and secular culture.
Depending on numbers and interests, some elementary classes may be combined during the summer months. Teachers are always eager to meet and welcome newcomers and visitors. Just ask any greeter you find (they wear a badge) to show you and your child to the classrooms and meet the teacher.

Young Disciples
Remember: the Time for Young Disciples takes place every Sunday during the 11:00 worship service. Please bring your children into the sanctuary to sit with you until they are called forward for the children's sermon.
