A Life-Changing Bible Study Beginning in September 2010

Truthfully, DISCIPLE may seem overwhelming at first. This is serious Bible Study requiring a significant commitment of time and reading. But when we consider all God has done for us, is anything too much to ask? As God's people, we are all Disciples. The question is - what kind of Disciple do you want to be? We should strive to give God our very best.

Nathan was a six-year-old in a church I once served. Every Sunday morning when I presented the children's sermon, Nathan would leave his seat and slink halfway to the altar. He only joined the rest of the children if I was giving away candy or a prize that particular Sunday. If not, he crawled back to his seat. Yes, he was just a child, but his commitment to God was based on what was in it for him. A lot of adults are like Nathan! Many only want to experience the exciting parts of being a Christian and aren't willing to seriously study, pray, listen, and be an imitator of Christ. This is what being a Disciple is about.

DISCIPLE is a 34-week Bible Study. Participants meet once a week for 2.5 hours. This time together deepens friendships and molds your group into a family. In addition, you agree to 30 minutes of Bible reading daily. You will study both Old and New Testaments, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God. DISCIPLE provides information for the transformation of lives molded in the example of Christ.

Weekly classes include fellowship, a video presentation, lecture by group leader, discussion, and prayer. Classes may be held at the church or in private homes - on Sundays, Wednesdays or other times convenient to the group's schedule. Please see the bulletin board outside my office for other info and to express your interest. We are busy people in 2010. I know!
