ANNUAL EASTMINSTER FOOD DRIVE

The "NEED WAS FED WITH SOME TO SPARE!". Thank you for your generous support during our 2011 annual food drive. Lilburn and Stone Mountain Co-ops received approximately 760 pounds of food from our caring congregation. The 380 pounds we donated to Stone Mountain Co-op were doubled by the Feinstein Foundation. Both food pantries also appreciated the monetary contributions amounting to $162.23. Many more people in our community are seeking assistance from the Co-ops during this unsettling economic turmoil. Please continue to add a few more items to your grocery list each week and deposit them in the designated receptacles at our church (narthex, outside Founders Hall and preschool entrance). Caring Tree 2010

23 Families and 20 individuals
Words cannot meaningfully express the thoughts and feelings experienced by those participating in Caring Tree this year. Our gym was filled with a flurry of activity for several hours with many volunteers setting up tables, unpacking store items, sorting, checking and wrapping gifts, and loading vehicles for delivery.

Others had planned a few weeks prior for this special Sunday by agreeing to shop, print out maps for delivery, call families ahead to remind them of delivery date and time, supply fruit, nuts, toilet tissue for each family, and prepare and host a delicious lunch for everyone involved.

Kudos to everyone who stayed late to clean up following lunch and delivery. Twenty-three families and twenty nursing home residents were blessed with a memorable Christmas filled with heartfelt love and joy from Eastminster. It is through giving that we receive the spirit of His love in our lives.

Thank you for donating your time, efforts, gifts, monetary contributions, etc. facilitating another unforgettable Caring Tree.
"Freely you have received, freely give." Matthew 10:8.

PW News

Our 2010 Annual PW Birthday Luncheon was an incredible blessing for many. Our own Ann Clements received this year's "Life Membership" award for her numerous years of faithfulness and service. Her name will be added to the list of other dedicated and committed Eastminster women located on the PW bulletin board. Peruse the names and don't forget to congratulate and thank Ann and the others for their leadership and inspiration. We collected $495 for the Birthday Offering this year. Donations will be divided between ministries in Iraq and Kentucky. Thank you for contributing to the nurture and education of children in the U.S. and overseas.

Bag Hunger 2010

A big thank you to all who brought nonperishable items for our annual food drive to benefit the Lilburn and Stone Mt. Co-ops. We filled over 200 grocery bags and delivered them to both Co-ops. The shelves are stocked for awhile, but in our uncertain economy more families and individuals are depending on community food ministries. Please keep a mental note to stock up each week on staples and deposit them on Sundays in the narthex or containers in the education building upstairs and downstairs.

Kudos to everyone who helped load, drive to the Co-ops, and unload bags on February 28. We especially appreciate the assistance from Boy Scout Troop #876. Their strong arms and contagious enthusiasm encouraged others to pitch in and lend a helping hand. Three cheers for all the boys & girls from Eastminster's Preschool & After School Programs. We admired their creativity and appreciated their efforts decorating the grocery bags we filled. Outreach Committee
