UPDATE - CARING TREE 2009
Once again Eastminster folks volunteered their time, talents, gifts, donations, etc. to ensure that the nursing home residents and needy families were blessed with good cheer this Christmas season. It is overwhelming to participate in the scurry of activity going on in our gym on Caring Tree Sunday. Many eager hands and loving hearts shopped, sorted, wrapped, prepared lunch for hungry workers, printed maps, and delivered bags filled with presents and food for 20 nursing home residents and 12 families in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. Take a few moments and listen to the humbling stories of those who drove to these homes and apartments to deliver this bounty. Kudos to everyone who stepped up to assist us with this year's efforts toward a successful and memorable "Caring Tree" experience. "For God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7. A thank you letter: Sincerest thanks to all of you for the wonderful gifts that were provided to the two families for whom you provided holiday gifts during the Holiday season of December 2009. More...
HARVEST BLESSINGS!

Thank you to everyone at Eastminster for sharing your blessings with so many others at this time of year.
Thank you for all of the fresh food you brought; for the monetary gifts that provided an abundance of food; and for your time and willingness to help.
Thanks to all of you we were able to provide fresh vegetables and fruit (potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, salad, apples, bananas, oranges, etc.)
for 25 to 30 families. In addition, we donated 21 gallons of milk and 24 dozen eggs.
We were also able to provide gift cards to both Stone Mountain Co-Op and Lilburn Co-Op.
God's love will be felt by many this holiday season because you were willing to listen to his call and give from your bounty.

| On November 23 the combined Worship Service of Eastminster Presbyterian Church
and the First Slavic Evangelical Church continued the annual Celebration of the Harvest.
We are one in the Spirit, We are one in the Lord. Both congregations gathered to raise our hearts and voices together in praise and thanksgiving. We shared our common traditions in prayer and music as well as traditions that are unique to each congregation. |
